How to Create a Field (Location)

Hello good Morning.

I have a problem.

After reading the documentation numerous times and I'm about to give up.

I'm trying to add the field of type geo_point.

In the documentations that I saw here in the forum, they all point to adding the field to an index. However I have an index that is created by logstash every day ... ie after 24 hours a new index is created and my field of type geo_point is lost.

I have tried to check the templates issue but I confess that I can not understand.

Hey,

You can add that field in an index template, this index template then gets automatically applied to a new logstash index on midnight, much like the existing logstash index template.
