It sounds like you're asking about a way to back up your data if you need to stop your stack for whatever reason. For that, we use a snapshot that can be restored and will keep all your data as it was before the stack was stopped.
You'll need to configure a snapshot repository and Kibana offers three repository types out of the box: shared file system, read-only URL, and source-only. You can read more about those here.
