How to work with Index Alias in Parent-Child Design

Hello,

We have two types:

action (parent)
events (child)

We want to store this index on a monthly basis, so that we can delete the older data after sometime (we want to retain 3 months data). The problem I see is:

We are creating the action (parent) only the first time when the event happens. After that we keep adding the events (children). If I maintain say:

index_jan
index_feb
index_mar

That would mean I have to create a action parent in all the indexes. Is that correct?
