If Elasticsearch 1.0.0.RC1 is a release candidate, can we have matching docs?

I am finding it hard to test ES 1.0.0.RC1 because there is no matching doc
set for the release, and master differs in significant ways. An example,
is the new multi-field format not being consistent with actual RC1
implementation, and others like copy_to which is in the master docs, but
doesn't exist in 1.0.0.RC1. I am guessing there are more examples where
they are out of sync and drifting further over time (and it has only been a
short time since RC1 was released).

Is it possible to generate an actual set for the RC1 and put that on the
site?

And, so that RC1 has more testing, maybe the download link should be a
little larger in comparison to the 0.90.10 link to promote use.

thanks,

  • Jayson

There used to be a snapshot repo if you did not want to run off the master
build, but it appears to be no longer used.

Judging by the commits, you are perhaps bumping into one of the few items
that differs between RC1 and the master docs. The elasticsearch team are
doing a better job now with versioned docs, but it looks like they are not
generated them for every minor version, just the major ones.

Cheers,

Ivan
