Import/Export elastic DB data

Hi,

I have a moderate amount of netflow data present in my local instance of elasicsearch DB. I would like to export all of this data on to a fresh instance of elasticsearch present in a testing machine. Is there a way to do the same? (something similar to mongo dump db perhaps?)

I also read up on a tutorial explaining what needs to be done for snapshotting and restoring from here.
However, when I run this command, after a few seconds, I end up with the response below. However, I do believe that elastic is doing something in the backend as I see constant load on my CPU. Is there a configurable parameter to set the timeout time?
