Importing Index Patterns

Hello there,

I have read it is possible to export index patterns from one elasticsearch cluster to another.

Will this include all the fields and scripted fields and is this a viable way of insuring the mapping is the same across elasticsearch cluster ?

Hello,

Yes. You can use our saved object management table (stack management -> Kibana-> saved objects) to export from one cluster and import it in another cluster. Index pattern is a kibana construct on top of elasticsearch indices. So yes it will retain all your mappings. Please note that you do need to make sure the cluster to which you are importing will have the elasticsearch indices corresponding to the index pattern you are interested in.
