Is only the API in Reindex API experimental?

Hi there!

The question might sound dumb, but since on a project my team plans using this API in production, we want to make sure we are familiar with it 100%.: ) The documentation here mentions that the API is still experimental. My question is: is it only the API which is experimental, but the functionality itself is mature enough to be freely used?

The underlying principle won't be going anywhere, but the API and its functionality may change.
