Issue: Failed to create monitoring event

Seeing the following error after running the logstash.

[2018-03-13T03:30:07,882][ERROR][logstash.inputs.metrics ] Failed to create monitoring event {:message=>"For path: events", :error=>"LogStash::Instrument::MetricStore::MetricNotFound"}

I know that this issue is currently being tracked, but am on my mobile & don't have the repository pulled up.

Yes. I have seen the link which you have mentioned here and also some more on the same topic. But in those discussions the actual reason for this issue is not clear. Also you mentioned this issue is being currently tracked, does that mean whether it is a known issue in logstash and is being fixed?
