Join datatype 5.5

I've been using es 5.6 and have written my template using join datatype. I'm going to be hosting es on aws and had planned on using their ready-baked elasticsearch infrastructure, however the latest version they currently support is 5.5 and join datatype does not exist for that version. Has anyone run into this issue yet, and if so how did you tackle it? I'd rather not rewrite my entire config and template, as I've already tested extensively with my current setup :sweat:

I appreciate any suggestions.

Move to elastic cloud official service. It also runs on AWS and it is always up to date with the latest versions and include xpack as well
