Hi all,
Is there a way to get the status of an ongoing optimize on a index?
The reason I'm asking is that I've a cluster of 2 nodes which has about 7
indices and a total of 3 trillion docs.
I started the optimize query (to make max segments to 1) on all of them in
parallel & it's been around 12 hours and only in 3 of the 7 indices, I can
see total segments as 1.
One way, I can guess it seeing the hot_threads output where merge thread
for the index will take some CPU time but other than that, is there a
better way? Also, how can I make this optimize fast? I'm guessing, by
increasing number of merge threads, is that right?
