I have 2 questions related to document search:

  1. If I have a mix of say, MS Word and pdf documents on a server and I want to restrict the search operation on some (not all) of these documents for a group of employees, is this doable?

  2. If I have one MS Word or a pdf document on a server and I want to restrict the search operation on certain sections/parts of this one document, is this doable? How deep a search can go - is this controllable?

  1. yes. If you have anything in your json doc which represents the owner or the group

  2. no. But if you don't index full content but part of it as separated docs then you can filter
