"Locale" parameter in query_string query

Hi ES users,

In ES 1.1.0 there is an add-on parameter "Locale" with query_string query so what exactly this parameter is all about?

As I didnt get much information from docs at http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/query-dsl-query-string-query.html#query-dsl-query-string-query

Any updates on the above query?

This controls the behavior of the string conversions triggered by
lowercase_expanded_terms.

For example Turkish/Azeri have different casing characteristics:
