I am having quite a bit of trouble locating information on installing Logstash 2.3.2 on RH using the tar file. I do not have the option to use a rpm. One of the largest issues I have current is the init.d scripts and running Logstash as a service/back group process that starts on server reboot.
Is there any information on install and configuration from the tar file?
We don't provide service files with tar.gz's as they are platform agnostic.
You may be able to adopt this one to what you want - Run Kibana as service on CentOS
