We are currently using version 5.5 for both Logstash and Elasticsearch. In our Logstash input configuration we specify "type" field value. We do not specify document_type in elasticsearch output configuration. However, when an event is indexed i see the type field value (from input conf) populated in both _type metadata field and in another simple string field "type" (as part of the document itself).
My question is when we move to ES 6.x, would this cause any issue since "_type" is no longer supported in 6.x versions?
