Lumberjack vs TCP for encrypted and compressed communication between logstash instances

Hi All,

We have implemented Logstash to Logstash communication using TCP output and input in source and destination logstash instances. This communication is encrypted with SSL certificate.

As per elastic documention, Lumberjack is the best protocol for achieving encrypted and compressed communication between 2 logstash instances. Are there any articles out there specifying compression ratios achieved using Lumberjack? I do understand mechanism of Lumberjack but trying to get hands on some statistics.

Thank you for your responses in advance!
