Metricbeat as non root user?

Hi,

is it possible to run metricbeat as non root user?
What am I loosing if running as non-root?

Hi @asp,

Yes, you can run Metricbeat as non-root. What you lose depends on the modules that you are using, for example the system module requires wide privileges and you may lose many things there. On the other hand most of the modules that monitor services will work fine as they only need to connect to network endpoints.
