Mlcategory -1 in 7.12

We are using Elastic Stack 7.12, and have set up some machine learning jobs. When we visit the Anomaly Explorer for one of these jobs, there is a mlcategory -1 that does not have any category examples. I have tried running

GET /_xpack/ml/anomaly_detectors/job_id/results/categories

But there the first mlcategory is 1, and there is no mlcategory -1 in that list. Could mlcategory -1 be a category with log entries where the categorization field is empty?

Yes, that’s right. Or the field was not present at all in a particular document.
