Monitoring Apache Kafka MirrorMaker 2

I was wondering if there are any plans to update the Metricbeat module for Kafka, to allow monitoring of MirrorMaker 2. AFAICS there are a few metricsets that make use of JMX to extract information about Kafka. For example there's a "broker" module here that connects to JMX (through Jolokia) to retrieve info about the broker.

I feel something similar could be done with MirrorMaker (see more info here). I couldn't find any PR related to this. And I was wondering if someone already considered adding this to Metricbeat.

Would the monitoring work, if you use the jolokia module directly?

We can create an issue to track an enhancement.
