Moving index to new installation

Hi,

I am planning to reinstall a machine which has an individual index I would like to transfer to the new installation. Single node, nothing distributed or else.

Assuming that it's only this individual index, same version of elasticsearch (5.3.0) search before and after reinstall: Would it be possible to just backup index files and restore them on the new install? Which files and directories should be copied? Is there a doc on this - didn't find one.

Yes. You can take the data dir and move it to another place.
