Multilingual Search in Elastic Search

(ajasuja18) #1

Hey,

I am new to Elastic Search.

I wanted to know if Elastic Search support multilingual search support. If
yes, then for which languages?

If it is not supported by default, then can we make it support through some
way?

Thanks in advance.

Hello!

The list of languages supported by default can be found here: http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/reference/index-modules/analysis/lang-analyzer.html

There are also some plugins for other languages, some of them are listed under "Analysis Plugins" section on the following page: http://www.elasticsearch.org/guide/reference/modules/plugins.html

if you tell us more about what kind of multilingual support you need we
might can give you more pointers / suggestions. Things like "lang is known
at search / index time", "only western lanugages", "support for language X"
are the interesting parts and maybe your specific domain / usecase.
