Need to Change field name in old indexes

Hi Team,

I want to change the field name in old indexes.
In my transaction Log one of the key name was "applaince" instead of "appiance". Last week I changed it as "appliance".
Now what happended means , old index has key name as applaince...and new one has key name as " appiance", it's making issues while searching large volume of data.

Is it possible to change the key name in Old index?
