Network/fd/discovery/gateway settings best practices?

(revdev-2) #1

Hi everyone,

We've been using ES now for quite some time, mostly with default settings.
As we've discovered problems, we've altered some settings based on (loose)
guidance from forum posts. Is there an ES-published best practices guide
for configuring the suite of settings related to network, discovery/gd, and
gateway? I see the various settings documented with short 1-line
descriptions of what they control but no pros/cons analysis of tweaking the
values one way or the other. I know this info would be extremely useful to
me and probably to a lot of other people. If we can collect all the best
practices in this thread, I'm more than willing to compile it into
documentation.

thanks in advance!
