Hi there, I'm checking beats for the first time. I've been a long time ES user in the past, it's amazing to see how much the ecosystem has evolved.

So, beats is amazing, and I would like to integrate into my java app, but instead of having another process running collocated, I was thinking on just sending the same event as described here: https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/beats/metricbeat/current/metricbeat-event-structure.html

It seems that if I follow the same structure, I could benefit from some kibana dashboards I could derive from.

Does this make sense?

That should work. But be aware that the current Dashboards we have are more for the modules we have, not for the common data. What is the data you are thinking of sending out?
