Number of hits when running non-scroll queries

I have configured the datastore.type as elasticsearch and when running scroll queries, I see values in meta.hits in the rally-metrics-* index. But, when running non-scroll queries, meta.hits doesn't have any value. Is it possible to get the number of hits when running non-scroll queries (where the pages and result-per-page properties aren't provided into the search benchmark)?

Hi @mesfin,

I did not consider it yet to include the number of hits to any other query type than scroll queries. The reason is that I was initially concerned about any overhead on a performance-critical path. Would you please raise an issue on Github? Then I'll check the overhead and add it if it isn't too costly.

Thanks Daniel!

Hi @mesfin,

you're welcome. I'll have a look soon and if it is feasible it's quite likely to be included in the next release of Rally.

Hi,

the issue is fixed now and scheduled for the next release 0.6.1. as promised.
