I am running an ES 2.4.4 cluster with 7 data nodes. A new index was created and all shards were allocated but 1 replica shard. It is sitting UNASSIGNED. Indices created after that one have had all shards allocated. I have attempted to restart my cluster as well as restarting the node the primary shard is allocated to. I have tried turning off allocation and turning it back on. Nothing I have tried will get that one shard to allocate so my cluster is sitting yellow. Any help would be appreciated.
Try removing the replica on the index and then re-adding it.
