Parent cannot be sorted by chlidren's field

Hello. I have parent/child mapping for my docs.
I search for parent documents using children's field, and it works
fine.
But I need to sort found documents by children's field as well. As far
as I can see it is not possible in ES.
Am I correct? If not, could you pint me to some documentation or
example of how to do this.

You are correct, its not possible to do so.

I just ran into the same need and noticed this thread was a year old. I wanted to follow-up to ask if it has become possible in the last year?
