Range query acts like wildcard search

{
"query": {
"range": {
"hits": {
"from": 58,
"to": 60
}
}
}
}

Is my query but I get values back like "58", "5825", "5932". Below is
a snippet of the json returned.

@fields: {
view: [
"_default"
]
size: [
"169994"
]
hits: [
"5932"
]
misses: [
1"02"
]
timestamp: [
"2011-06-18T19:06:23-07:00"
]
YEAR: [
"2011"
]
MONTHNUM: [
"06"
]
MONTHDAY: [
"18"
]
HOUR: [
"19",07"
]
MINUTE: [
"06","00"
]
SECOND: [
"23"
]
ISO8601_TIMEZONE: [
"-07:00"
]
caller: [
"daemon"
]
process: [
"named"
]
pid: [
"26353"
]
BASE10NUM: [

data: [
"info Recursion cache view "_default": size = 169994, hits = 5932,

}

Hits doesn't seem to be a number value as it's surrounding by "" in data field.

What is the exact mapping you have ?
