Roadmap and possible discontinuation of OpenTracing bridge

The OpenTracing bridge docs for the java apm agent (version 1.52.1) on OpenTracing bridge | APM Java Agent Reference [1.x] | Elastic contain a note saying the following:
" OpenTracing is discontinued in favor of OpenTelemetry. Consider using the OpenTelemetry bridge instead.
Latest supported OpenTracing version: 0.33 (as of agent and OpenTracing-bridge version 1.9.0)"

I assume the OpenTracing bridge will be dropped in a future release.
Is there any roadmap for this? Is there a clear end-of-support date for the OpenTracing bridge?
We are relying on this bridge at the moment, but company policy also forces us to not use outdated libraries. Having a better picture on OpenTracing support will help us in planning our work and plan our migration to OpenTelemetry.

There are no plans to actually remove the OpenTracing bridge from the agent. We won't add any new features to it or upgrade it to newer OpenTracing versions, but the feature is GA and will remain supported for the foreseeable future.

The note is about OpenTracing itself being discontinued, not the agent bridge itself.
