we are using ES 5.5. we recently found that the average query time drops after every reindex, and then it climbs gradually after the reindex. This pattern repeats every day. Anyone has a good explanation for this kind of behavior?
it's worth to mention that we keeps updating the index every 20mins.
Do you have X-Pack Monitoring enabled? That'd likely give you insight into things that might correlate.
Hi, I think I know why. it's because the number of segments will increase since we keep updating the index. And the more segments in the index the slower the query will be
