I have shut down one node with both data and master roles. How can I remove this node from cluster? I have seen that the node have disappeared from my cluster and its replica shard became primary.
What do you mean 'remove' as if it's down, it's already gone, i.e. removed. The cluster has already forgotten about it, as far as I know.
And of course other masters take over that function, and replica shards will be primary, plus if you have replica set to 1+, the cluster will create new replica shards (unless you have only one node left).
As long as your cluster is up and green, you are good.
Thank you for reply. I wanted to avoid manual reroute, that's why I decided to stop Elastic instance and then removed this server from cluster permanently.
