Slash at the end of query

Hello!

The example of GET query in ES docs is:
"GET twitter/_doc/2"
But the query with slash at the end is working as well:
"GET twitter/_doc/2/"

Is slash at the end is supported in all ES versions? (I use 6.6.2)
