please suggest here something

Did you run the _cat/indices on the 6.8 cluster? Or was that on the 5.6?

Hi dadoonet,
Thanks for your quick reply.
I've run the _cat/indices on the 6.8 cluster.

So what's the problem then?

What do you think is missing?

I cannot see the reindexed data in the 6.8 data folder. Why is that?

Can you see it in Elasticsearch? Using the cat API or the search API?

Yes, I can see that but it's not reflected in the data folder of the 6. x cluster. Am I missing something?

May be it moved somewhere else. I remember that we changed at some point the organisation of the data folder because it was not allowed to run multiple nodes within the same data path.

As long as you can see your indices in Elasticsearch, that's all good I guess.

Actually, you should not go in the data folder and let Elasticsearch manage it for you.

Thank you David for your response. I really appreciate it.
Well, I guess as far as I can see my indices in Elasticsearch it wouldn't be of any concern. But I am wondering do we have an API that will let us know the location of the data folder just in case.
