Unable to install elasticsearch-plugin

When I tried to perform a elasticsearch-plugin install ingest-geoip, I get the following error:

Are you using SSL encryption and authentication for Elasticsearch? What commands did you execute to install / enable the geo-ip plugin?

It's also helpful if you post your elasticsearch.yml configuration file.

Everytime I'm seeing this error, the cause is a broken installation of Java. May be reinstall Java?

I just installed everything but haven't updated the elasticsearch.yml file. So that file is the same as the original.

As for the commands, I'm doing it from a command prompt in windows 10:

elasticsearch-plugin install ingest-geoip

I'm not using ssl encryption or authentication for elastic search. I just installed it on my windows 10 desktop. I've also installed Kibana, logstash and filebeat on the same host.

I plan on installing this on a linux machine in the AWS cloud but wanted to perform my install on my windows desktop 1st to familiarize myself with the software.

I reinstalled java already and got the same results. I have jdk and jre 1.8.0_181
