Unique token filter with string array

I am curious to know why "unique" / "shingle" token filter do not work if the field is an array of string?

	"text" : ["git", "git-merge", "git checkout"],
	"filter" : ["unique"],
	"tokenizer" : "standard"
}

Show duplicates.
