Update mapping format

Hi,

I am using elasticsearch 6.4.
The date type format recently changed from "epoch_millis" to "dd MMMM, yyyy (HH:mm:ss)".
Currently there is no data in elasticsearch for this field.

Is it possible to update the format by any chance..?
This will save loads of work if possible if the format can be updated..

You can dynamically update the mapping on a field that has no data in it.
