Use static data in Vega Visualisation

I would like to use a static set of data instead of a url query to evaluate a Vega code I am trying to design.
Somehow I am not able to use the static data , any help or assistance pointer would be appreciated.

Can you show what you tried? Vega offers different ways to specify data, with directly specifying the values being the simplest one - e.g. this example grabbed from the vega home page:

{
  "$schema": "https://vega.github.io/schema/vega/v4.json",
  "description": "A basic bar chart example, with value labels shown upon mouse hover.",
  "width": 400,
  "height": 200,
  "padding": 5,

    {
      "name": "table",
      "values": [
        {"category": "A", "amount": 28},
        {"category": "B", "amount": 55},
        {"category": "C", "amount": 43},
        {"category": "D", "amount": 91},
        {"category": "E", "amount": 81},
        {"category": "F", "amount": 53},
        {"category": "G", "amount": 19},
        {"category": "H", "amount": 87}
      ]
    }

      }
    }
  ]
}

Hi Joe,

Basically I was trying to work with the example from Vega "https://vega.github.io/vega/examples/force-directed-layout/" , but using local data.
I am frankly lost.
Once I make this work , I would move on to do a "url" based live query.

Regards

See my example above - you can just inline the data as “values” in the spec
