What is hs_err_pidxxx.mdmp files and why is it getting created?

Hi,

hs_err_pidxxx.mdmp files are getting created in c$ and its eating up complete c$ space and elastic search stopped working.

First of all, what is this file about and why and when this will be created?

Also, please let me know, how to set the path of this file to a different drive in config file?
