Where is logstash.stdout for v5.2?

I'm playing with v5.2, and have my output filter set to stdout using the rubydebug codec. However I don't see my events logged into /var/log/logstash/logstash.stdout. Did this location change? I looked in the /etc/logstash/logstash.yml and ../startup.options file and didn't see it there?

I don't see them in syslog (e.g., /var/log/messages) either, per this post.

Anybody? Surely there's a simple answer?
