Despite giving period as 1m , i was able to see about 8 events created for the same timestamp
for the metricset containing network
Can you give an example of the repeated metrics? The network metricset will report metrics on a per-network interface basis (or select interfaces, depending on how you configure it), so those 8 or so events are probably for all the interfaces it can see on the host system.
