Wich conditions is used in search's prefilter on 5.6.0?

Hello everyone,

I tried to find this information on doc but i couldn't.

I want to know wich factors the Elasticsearch will use to elect the correct shards to route the search request and if it is customizable.

Another question is if i can inspect if the Elasticsearch made the correct decision.
