Would having multiple ports/connections improve performance in a cluster

Hi
Im new to Elasticsearch and setting up a cluster with 3 nodes. Each server/node has multiple ethernet ports on the networking adapter.

Would configuring the Elasticsearch node to have 2 IPs/ports increase performance? in other words will the Elasticsearch use both ports automatically for transferring data?

or is only redundancy/reliability improved with multiple ports/IPs

What leads you to believe network performance or throughput is the bottleneck?

the drives are nvme, capable of 3000MB/S
the network connection is only 1Gbps per link/port

maybe using 2 ports per node will increase transfer speed/throughput?
