I am currently working on x-pack-transport with 5.0 and yesterday after not being able to download the dependency, it suddenly downloaded the dependency, and now yet again the morning, it cannot download the dependency. Was a problem with your Nexus apparently.
Yes actually it seems so. I will update you once I talk to our nexus admins! I am still wondering why this was not provided in maven central.
It's not open-source. Maven central does not really allow jars without source and javadoc AFAIK.
