100 daily emails limit?

I received a mail

WARNING: you reached the limit of 100 daily emails. Further email notifications will be suppressed.

I can not find how to increase the level. Is that possible at all? Why is 100 the limiy?

I'm guessing this was the default setting. I've disabled it now (i.e. no limit).
