Alerting in Kibana : formatting for dates

Hello,

I use the alerting rules that are directly available in Kibana (i don't use "Watcher").

As action, I send an email and i put the field {{context.hits.0._source.inventoryDate}} in the body. It works well, but the format is not very good: I would like to specify the format of the date. How can I do that ?

There isn't a way to do this just yet.

We have an issue tracking this requirement though, so it would be very helpful if you could add a comment with your exact use case so we can weigh that in when planning the work.
