Automatic backup like SLM in 6.8 version

Hi,
I'm playing around with snapshot and restore in elasticsearch trying to do automatic backup, but I noticed that in 6.8 version, SLM policy is not available.

Is there any methods to automatically take snapshot other than SLM within Elasticsearch 6.8 version?

SLM is a 7.4 and above only feature. You might want to take a look at curator in order to achieve something similar in 6.x, albeit not being built-in, this needs to be called externally.
