Bug in multiple enteries to path

I am having an issue when I am trying to specify the path.data with
multiple dirs as

path.data: ["/mnt/first", "/mnt/second"]

I am running multiple instances on the same machine and seeing that
elasticsearch instance starts up with data path as

["/var/lib/elasticsearch-(instance name e.g.data)", /mnt/first",
"/mnt/second"]

I am wondering from where elasticsearch is getting the
/var/lib/elasticsearch-(instance name) value.

I am using ELS 1.3.5 and java version "1.7.0_72". Any help in this
will be of great help as this is quite annoying issue and wondering if
anyone is using the multiple dirs in path.data at all in community. If
yes then do they see this happening or which version of elasticsearch
they are using.

I am seeing the same issue with 1.3.5 and wondering how should I specify
the multiple path. As if I specify according the
documentation Elasticsearch Platform — Find real-time answers at scale | Elastic
it results in the "/var/lib/elasticsearch-(instance name e.g.data)" added
to the path array.
