may be a naive question but would it be possible to have Field and Filter
caches persisted so that if the node is restarted they are not lost?

Or maybe they could be copied from replicas of all shards the
restarted node hosts, assuming there are replicas?

It should be possible. Does not make much sense for filters, but maybe for
very large field cache.
