Can't connect to node (ECONNREFUSED) - Multi cluster setup

Hi,

I'm new to both ES and docker so I may not be doing something right and maybe somebody could help

I am currently trying to create a multi cluster setup with 3 nodes and 2 kibanas:

Cluster1 (2 nodes 1 kibana) / Cluster2 (1 node 1 kibana)

I'm having trouble getting kibana from cluster2 to connect to the node in cluster2 but I am getting the following error

[ERROR][elasticsearch-service] Unable to retrieve version information from Elasticsearch nodes. unable to verify the first certificate

Do I need to create another set of certificate for the es03 node from cluster2 or something to do with kibana I can't quite figure it out

Here's my docker compose file

You are setting up in a single Docker Compose definition two clusters

  • Cluster 1: has two Elasticsearch instances, only one exposing port 9200, and Kibana connecting to it
  • Cluster 2: with one Elasticsearch instance without setting passwords for any user, and a Kibana instance that shares the kibanadata volume with the other and connects to the ES node

So three things:

  • You need to set up credentials to your es03 node
  • You miss the ELASTICSEARCH_SSL_CERTIFICATEAUTHORITIES in kibana2
  • I don't think it is correct to share the filesystem for two instances of kibana related to different ES nodes

Check a revised version of your template for differences
