Can't resolve ui/registry/vis_types or ui/vis/vis_factory

Kibana 7.6
Documentation suggests these two sources should be available: https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/development-visualization-factory.html

However, looking at the structure in kibana.git at 7.6, there is no 'ui' folder under 'src'. Some mention of using 'legacy', but even that as proven fruitless given the lack of one useful example

Same issues mentioned here: Can't resolve `ui/registry/vis_types` [7.5] which provides no useful example.

Please advise
