That's a very broad topic, but in a nutshell we both do application performance monitoring to help with the exact problem you just mentioned. One major difference is the fact that Elastic APM is open-source.

We are using php, java, dotnet agent on a on-premise or Saas controller. It depend of our clients. Does it answer to your question ?
